Countless eons ago, the land beneath our feet was forged through the fusion of earth's fire, molding molten magma, and then shaped and sculpted by the force of flowing water, resulting in Nanjing's unique Yuhua stones. The featured artist, Xiaocao, is deeply involved in ceramic art and is a native of Nanjing. She often describes ceramic creation as the process of fusing and solidifying mountains, stones, and soil with human will, much like a creator refining nature in the crucible of the cosmos. Drawing inspiration from the natural process of volcanic eruptions and tectonic collisions, Xiaocao employs clay as her medium and uses mineral glazes to imitate the natural art of "melting stones," portraying landscapes of mountains, rivers, valleys, forests, oceans, and human-made objects in her works.In her early works, Xiaocao exhibited a clear inclination towards naturalism, simulating the laws of nature, showcasing its power and beauty. Mountains, oceans, dappled lights, and mists were all subjects that she skillfully depicted. However, in recent years, symbols of human-made objects like floral patterns and imprints began to appear in her works, hinting at the influence of human industrial civilization on natural landscapes. This indicates a shift in the artist's creative concept: are humans like the variously shaped stones, their patterns or beauty formed through societal forging? The exhibition presents a collection of 15 pieces of art, created by Xiaocao in recent years, serving as a comprehensive summary of her unique artistic language and creative approach. Diverging from conventional painting techniques, the subtle and pale mineral glazes only reveal their vibrant colors after firing at a high temperature of 1300°C. The glaze firing process is challenging to control, making the exploration and synthesis of creative experiences slow and arduous. Xiaocao needs to conduct numerous material experiments to document and familiarize herself with the colors and texture characteristics of each glaze before and after glazing and firing. She firmly believes that each glaze possesses its distinct character, much like the diverse forms of clouds, water, mountains, stones, and all living beings. The glaze samples resulting from her experimentation serve as a reference "color card" for her creative process. Behind the seemingly free-flowing imagery lies a highly rational production method and meticulously honed control. In addition, problems of climate, environment, and resources occur at the same time, and not only the future but also the present are uncertain. In this situation, the theme of the spring conference in The Korean society of Art and Media was “The Image of Death”, and various topics of death in existence and aesthetics were discussed. In the same context, this exhibition at the Society for Arts and Media intends to present the artist's work of drawing, the purest expression that captures the artistic development that lies within. Drawing is a way of unraveling the clues to creativity in a mass of chaos-like senses where the artist's consciousness and unconsciousness are mixed. Drawing, which is the art of capturing a sense that does not yet have a clear expression of reality, and moving it immediately and quickly, has a different value than a high-quality work. Starting with traditional tools such as pencils, paper, pens, and brushes, we use handy tools that change over time, such as cameras, computers, smartphones, objects, and bodies, to bring out the vague clues. Drawings present the purest state of life between meaning and existence. The artist encounters the subject in an undifferentiated, primitive part. It is not a continuous process of thought and technology, but as a simple instrument, flowing as one, the senses are created and rescued, light, cheerful and lively. The secret of the mixed thoughts inside becomes an instantaneous segmentation, delicately integrated with the tool, and transferred to the surface object at once. As time passes, the momentary sensation disappears. Drawing is an art of possibility that can be a finished work in itself and can be developed in a markedly different way. I believe that there is still a chance to overcome the reality of chaos in the shadow of death, which threatens the survival of humankind itself. This exhibition, “Image of Creation-drawing ,” is a show that seeks reconciliation between the artist's organic essential thinking and a fixed and firmly established decisive form, a search for the beginning of a new positivity and freedom.&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; The works that bring out the vibrations of the inner senses in a dynamic and direct connection with life allow us to apply practical actions that cut the bones of living together with thinking about humans, humans, and the essence of nature. All Rights Reserved 作品 Work 展览 Exhibitions 个人 About 釉的表情与生活日常——青年陶艺家三人联展The Expression of Glaze and Daily... http://xiao-cao.top/the-colorful-spring-of-yayoi Sun, 19 May 2019 02:47:06 +0000 小草Xiaocao 323997 作品 Work 展览 Exhibitions  个人 About <img width="800" height="480" width_o="800" height_o="480" src_o="https://cortex.persona.co/t/original/i/df7ab08b3f5989b263b088e21d6bfeffdb1a7779dc1000c7b35b813d6485fc97/1.jpg" data-mid="710348" border="0" />色之弥生——小草釉画个展The Colorful Spring of YayoiXiaocao Glaze Painting Exhibition 2018年3月March.2018 南京塔索艺术空间TASSO Art Space, Nanjing, China&nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; 三月的春天很美，万物复苏，色彩斑斓，一切在阳光的照耀下都闪闪发光，令人清爽舒适。塔索艺术空间举办“色之弥生——小草釉画个展”以应春景，为您呈现一个新的色彩世界，绝不辜负这大好春光。 &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; 小草，南京人，初次碰面是她与朋友一起来塔索看展览，她不善言辞，只是草草相互加个了微信。后来她直接微信我，说：“杨老师，我想带两幅作品到塔索给你看一下”。她很真诚！我当然没有理由拒绝。 &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; 第一看到小草的作品，着实让我惊讶，一是她的作品脱离了“山水”、“禅”等这类“很中国”的传统题材，纯用釉色的表达，其色彩绚丽超于一般纸本和布面油画；二是她的母体表达整体呈现一个气象宏大抽象世界却又极度的自然和谐。我哑然这个女孩如此年纪轻轻内心世界却毫无边际，居然会碰触此类题材！我当然愿意探究她是偶然碰巧为之，还是深度思考的再度呈现。我详细询问了她的创作过程，她提到了在景德镇的创作和生活，提到了自然，提到了对宇宙终极问题的思索，我想我大致明白了。 &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; 《庄子.知北游》 ：“天地有大美而不言，四时有明法而不议，万物有成理而不说”。庄子认为，美存在于“天地”——大自然之中，为“天地”所具有。人要了解美，寻求美，就要到“天地”之中去观察，去探寻。这种美是合规律与合目的性的统一，也是人的自由的实现。这一思想在中国美学史上本就具有一定价值和地位。小草，无疑她是天份的。 &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp; 7年的清华美院的生活教会了小草对待创作的严谨和执着，而北京这个城市独有的那种很有力量东西，她拿到了！一如她什么都不多说，直接带作品给我看。我欣赏她的果敢和自信，更叹于她的天资和聪慧！ &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;瓷板绘画易流于工艺装饰，可是她跳脱材质的限制、题材的限制，她也寻找到了让自己自由的方式，如此出彩！ &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; 塔索艺术总监&nbsp; 杨晓洋 <img width="800" height="527" width_o="800" height_o="527" src_o="https://cortex.persona.co/t/original/i/a5ee85d8b6bba3c45909c0305df4276048d11c478f9fe75827304e5409bda38c/5.jpg" data-mid="710437" border="0" /> <img width="800" height="505" width_o="800" height_o="505" src_o="https://cortex.persona.co/t/original/i/a3cb4cf6966597ee70b0c4f4b86b955f8824398842eb0560274c792e3a5db152/6.jpg" data-mid="710440" border="0" /><img width="800" height="527" width_o="800" height_o="527" src_o="https://cortex.persona.co/t/original/i/920aa07a07f5d5f9524b89dcec4c8b8f542cb969184c70ddcab3147e5a52245b/4.jpg" data-mid="710349" border="0" /> <img width="800" height="505" width_o="800" height_o="505" src_o="https://cortex.persona.co/t/original/i/b7c210e207c2401cb62e9a2145e8e62e760c256db8c0bd79b1d2cc017e3da17d/7.jpg" data-mid="710441" border="0" /><img width="800" height="527" width_o="800" height_o="527" src_o="https://cortex.persona.co/t/original/i/c9e91b6c7093611edc3400a5701f5a0b53d200c34869c92633c3131dda422fbb/9.jpg" data-mid="710444" border="0" /> 作者自述 &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; Hi，我是小草。今天想和大家聊聊我的陶艺生活。陶艺给了我多多的快乐，也给了我多多的见识。 陶和瓷 &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; 陶和瓷是指陶器和瓷器，都是用泥土制作再经窑火烧制固化形成的。区别在于：一、制作工艺的不同，主要是烧制的温度，烧陶比烧瓷用的温度低，六七百度就可成陶，瓷器则需要一千三百度，所以在历史上瓷器的出现较晚。二、用料上不同，陶土颜色深、粗糙且杂质多，黄土即可；而瓷土色白精细，不易多得，如景德镇的高岭土矿成就了它的瓷器。三、外观上，瓷比陶细腻光泽。陶和瓷有时也没有明显的界限，用现代技术可以把陶土磨制精细，也可以把陶土加温至烧瓷的温度。 陶瓷艺术 &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; 古人先会制作陶瓷器皿，后会在器皿刻划纹理，再后来用天然的颜料在器皿表面彩绘，具有美的意味，这是陶瓷艺术的开端。陶瓷在窑里烧制，烧制过程中会产生各种色彩和纹理的变化，人们还通过观察落在陶瓷上柴灰形成光滑的表层发明了釉。时间的推移，陶瓷制品已不仅是用品，而且成了供人观赏的工艺品。审美是陶瓷艺术发生和发展的过程，也是人类文明的主要特征。 现代陶瓷艺术 &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; 随着历史的进程，陶瓷艺术与现代艺术的创作理念结合，呈现出无法想象的变化。艺术家们试图从传统的陶瓷艺术中跳脱出来，把陶瓷视为一种创作媒介，最终要表达自己的思想和情感。他们为陶艺带来的变化不仅体现在形态、材料和工艺上，更多体现在与人类其他艺术形式的交叉融合上，如绘画、雕塑、音乐等，因而展现出无比丰富的艺术表现力。 瓷板画 &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; 近代瓷板画这种艺术形式产生的历史并不太长，人们把压制成的泥板作画布，用陶瓷颜料在上面作画。较常见的有青花瓷板画、釉上彩绘瓷板画，也有用各色的釉料直接绘画的颜色釉瓷板画。其中颜色釉瓷板画的制作难度较大，釉料在窑烧时会流动相互晕染，难以控制，却也能因此特性产生意想不到的效果。我的作品就是用颜色釉进行绘画，为了区别其他，我称它们为釉画。 我的陶艺创作 &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;在读研期间我曾去河南洛阳考察当地的三彩艺术，被绚丽明快、梦幻多变的三彩釉深深吸引。三彩釉属低温釉，烧成温度多在1000℃，釉层光滑透明，颜色融合交错，让我联想到家乡晶莹剔透的雨花石和灿若云霞的云锦。于是我选用了平面的釉画形式，为的是突出釉彩的美丽。 &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; 在创作过程中，我将自己对宇宙的理解作为灵感来源。宇宙无量，浸染深沉，看似静谧却充满能量，其中有狂想与撞击，有压抑和抒情。作品的画面意象多为光明隐约从黑暗中闪现，既有艰难险阻又充满希望。 &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; 研究生毕业后我大部分时间都在景德镇，依然继续我的釉画创作。在景德镇可使用的釉料更是多种多样，多数为需要1300℃烧制的高温釉。它们有各自的性格，有的粗糙像山石，有的轻盈如云水。我把经过挑选的釉料按自己的设计安排组合，让其自然发生联系，想把这些取自山石土壤的泥与釉在窑火中再度熔化，凝结成我心中的风云山水。 &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; 像所有的孩子都喜欢涂鸦和手工制作，像所有的孩子都喜欢美丽缤纷和色彩，陶艺圆了我爱美的梦，也给了我获取快乐的机会和能力。爱它就是一切，而这一切才刚刚开始，我会一步一个脚印地往前去。谢谢大家！小草 2018.3 <img width="800" height="527" width_o="800" height_o="527" src_o="https://cortex.persona.co/t/original/i/31699fbc2b2dcbf201ae57bd764c1ab7e3677e5b1a74608bcc54e0a276822e08/8.jpg" data-mid="710443" border="0" /> <img width="608" height="850" width_o="608" height_o="850" src_o="https://cortex.persona.co/t/original/i/505a219088dd4f90f7e05ab3ba49c5bcff33ac1aadd347f32e8902099f5113bb/10.jpg" data-mid="710448" border="0" data-scale="80"/> 展览中部分作品 Some of the works in the exhibition 下一展览 next exhibition  返回 back to&nbsp; Exhibitions © 2018-2023 Ding Weiran.
